Competence Manager—Applying the Semantic Web in Practice

چکیده
A corporate memory is an explicit, disembodied, and persistent representation of knowledge and information in an organization. Competence management is an essential part of a corporate memory. In this paper we introduce a Competence Manager, which allows managing and publishing competencies and other relevant resources about a set of topics. The knowledge base in the Competence Manager is implemented using ontologies. Thus, in this paper we demonstrate, how the Semantic Web technologies can be used in a practical application on the area of competence management. The frontend of the Competence Manager is accessed using a Web-based interface, which connects to the back-end system through a Web service interface. The Competence Manager provides operations for querying the knowledge base, managing the ontologies, and providing reports about the resources stored the knowledge base.

Competence Management Within and Between Organizations
We introduce a Semantic Web-based competence manager system called Competence Manager, which allows managing employee competencies and other relevant resources about a set of topics. The Competence Manager provides flexible operations for both querying the knowledge base, and managing the ontologies. The usage scenarios of the Competence Manager range from intra-organization use to interoperabi...
متن کاملQuery Architecture Expansion in Web Using Fuzzy Multi Domain Ontology
Due to the increasing web, there are many challenges to establish a general framework for data mining and retrieving structured data from the Web. Creating an ontology is a step towards solving this problem. The ontology raises the main entity and the concept of any data in data mining. In this paper, we tried to propose a method for applying the "meaning" of the search system, But the problem ...
متن کاملA Privacy Preference Manager for the Social Semantic Web
Current Social Web applications provide users with means to easily publish their personal information on the Web. However, once published, users cannot control how their data can be accessed apart from applying generic preferences (such as “friends” or “family”). In this paper, we describe how we enable finer-grained privacy preferences using the Privacy Preference Ontology (PPO); a light-weigh...
متن کاملA procedure for Web Service Selection Using WS-Policy Semantic Matching
In general, Policy-based approaches play an important role in the management of web services, for instance, in the choice of semantic web service and quality of services (QoS) in particular. The present research work illustrates a procedure for the web service selection among functionality similar web services based on WS-Policy semantic matching. In this study, the procedure of WS-Policy publi...
متن کاملAHP Techniques for Trust Evaluation in Semantic Web
The increasing reliance on information gathered from the web and other internet technologies raise the issue of trust. Through the development of semantic Web, One major difficulty is that, by its very nature, the semantic web is a large, uncensored system to which anyone may contribute. This raises the question of how much credence to give each resource. Each user knows the trustworthiness of ...
